"Robert Ginnett"
Robert Ginnett is a senior partner with Impact Leadership Development Group, where he
specializes in the leadership of high performance teams and organizations. Prior to joining
Impact, Robert was a Senior Fellow with the Center for Creative Leadership. He is the developer
of the Team Effectiveness Leadership Model, which provides the theoretical framework for many
courses in organizations where teamwork is critical. This model also provides the foundation for
Robert's consulting skills in real-time team diagnostics and the identification of leverage points
for change. Besides his ongoing research concerning the leadership of high-performance teams
and organizations, Robert is an adjunct lead instructor in CCL's Leadership at the Peak course
for CEOs & Presidents, ranked #1 in executive education by Bricker's as reported in the Wall
Street Journal.
Dr. Ginnett works with clients to develop programs tailored specifically to their needs. These
may include workshops designed to enhance individual and team effectiveness or may focus on
diagnosis for large-scale interventions in the organizational setting. He is an outstanding public
speaker. His presentations are unique in their combination of important learnings presented in a
direct and humorous manner, creating great demand for Robert as a keynote speaker. He has
worked with hundreds of organizations including Novartis, FMC, Prudential, Masterfoods,
GlaxoSmithKlein, Daimler Benz, NASA, the Defense and Central Intelligence Agencies, General
Motors, United and Delta Airlines, Textron, and the United States Army, Navy and Air Force.
Prior to working with Impact, Robert has worked as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Creative
Leadership, and a tenured professor at the United States Air Force Academy where he also served
as the Director of Leadership and Counseling. He also served in numerous line and staff
positions in the Air Force including leadership of an 875-man combat intelligence force in the
Vietnam War, where he received the Gallantry Cross, the Air Medal and the Bronze Star. His
research on leadership and teamwork has been directly applied in commercial and military
aviation, surgical and dental teams, and top management and project teams. He spent over ten
years working as a researcher for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, focusing
his work at the Kennedy Space Center in the post-Challenger period. Robert is an organizational
psychologist whose education includes a Master of Business Administration degree, a Master of
Arts, a Master of Philosophy, and a Ph.D. from Yale University. He is co-author of the best
selling undergraduate textbook, Leadership: Enhancing the Lessons of Experience, now in its 5th
edition.
Robert lives in the home he designed north and east of Monument, Colorado.
